Our Heart
At Rominger West, we are striving to build a sustainable business, integrating the production of artisan wines with our responsibility to the community,
care for the environment, and support for the economic viability of rural Yolo County. We are pursuing these goals through the use of sustainable farming practices, an emphasis on local conservation, reuse of resources, and a long term focus on the impacts of our actions. Sustainable farming increases the biodiversity in our vineyard soils, improves the health of the vines and produces more flavorful grapes. A small lot, artisan approach to winemaking allows us to capture these characteristics in wines that are a clear expression of their site. Please join us in helping to build a sustainable future for our community.
Charlie Rominger 1954-2006

On October 15,2006, Charlie Rominger, our brother, friend and founding Winegrower, died following a battle with cancer. Charlie had a love of life, family, and the land, a love that enriched all who knew him. His calm, reasoned, and sincere approach to the often contentious issues of farming, development, ecology, and land preservation earned him the admiration and respect of those on all sides of the issues. The outpouring of grief from the community after his death was a testament to the impact Charlie had on those around him, but it barely touched on the depth of loss we continue to feel here. Charlie’s admonitions during the early stages of this venture were to make sure that we always had fun, focused on quality, supported our community, and worked to make the region better for our children. At Rominger West, we remain committed to these goals.
